Blue Screen Of Death Screen Saver
Ever see one?
It is a Sysinternals product.
Malware.
SuperAntiSpyware detects & removes it.

Dell Latitude D600
Would not boot.
After the Dell spash screen it would go black.
No error messages.
Tried fixboot bootcfg/repair in the Recovery console.
Also ran chkdsk (not /r)
Started right up after that.

Thankful for the easy jobs.
Back-to-back difficult jobs stress you out
while the easy jobs give you confidence and energy.

HP laptop with IE 7 issues:
It would say application halted or application failed.
I thought it could not be as easy to fix
as going into IE Tools/Advanced/Reset
... but it WAS that simple to repair.
(You cannot do this in IE 6 though)

Repairs come in waves.
The current wave is processors.
Normally I will do 5/yr and I talk about
how I troubleshoot/pinpoint processors issues.
And how I determine hd/processor problem.

Customer returns:
I have been experiencing customers calling back
after a fix stating specific things do not work
after I have fixed their issues.

Don't cut corners. Do a stellar job.
Learn from your mistakes/returns
Tie up all of those loose ends that are nagging the back of your mind
that you know will make or break a thorough job.
They will call back if it is not right.

Email from William:

Email from Hamrad:
Two computers
98 and XP
He wants to eliminate the 98 machine
(and dual boot XP and 98 for software reasons?)

Steve admits he was not into PCs until 2005.
I think that gap hurts me with these types of questions.

Email from Michael aka "Zinger":
Google Ads and I want to see your website
that turns your Google traffic into business.

Here it is Michael:

Email from Bob:
Bob loves hearing from Simon and would like
to have him as a repeat guest.

Voicemail from Sacs aka Colin:
Colin says Open ID is good.
He also uses Acronis at work.
Active Password Recovery
Learn how to change a Windows Password using a Windows CD!

Voicemail from Joe:
Joe chimes in about IE 8
If you are on Vista and install IE 8
there seems to be no way to retro back to IE 7

My favorite app to install on a new machine is the free WinPatrol
www.winpatrol.com

There is no better user-friendly way to control your start up menu.

All of my clients are required to run it.
The true geeks will love it for the additional features of the PLUS version.

Makes managing startup/services simple.
