Podnutz Lounge - User Guide

.:How to register your Nick:.
- When joing the Podnutz Lounge we ask that you do not use the Guest
Login. This makes it hard to know if we have a (Troller) or not. If you can not get your Nick (user name) to register, this is what this guide is for.

Step 1: Enter your desired User Name. (if its used it will automatically ask for a password)
Step 2: On the bottom right of chat window click Options.
Step 3: Click Register Nick Name.
Step 4: Fill out the fields given.
*Example* Email Address: JohnDoe@mailme.com
New Password: Joe19.13
Password Again: Joe19.13

**When doing your password we suggest using atleast 4 characters and or combination of letters and numbers.**

Step 5: Click submit.

**If you have further question on registering, sign in with your desired Nick (User Name) and ask in the chat. Someone will help you.**

.:IRC Chat Connection Information:.
Server: irc.everywherechat.com
Port: 6667 or 7000
- Note you can also access this chat room with any IRC Client: mIRC
X-Chat, ircZ, Ircle, Conversation, Colloguy, Pidgin, and more.

.:How to setup your Pidgin for the Lounge:.

Pre step 1 download Pidgin http://www.pidgin.im/download and install pidgin
Step 1: Open your Pidgin Client then Click Accounts.
Step 2: Click on Manage Accounts
Step 3: Click on the Add Button at the bottom of the Accounts window.

.:Basic Tab:.
Login Options:
Protocol: IRC
Username: (username you used to register)
Server: irc.everywherechat.com
Password: (password used when you registered Nick)
"Rememeber Password: Only check this if you want to save your password"

User Options:
Local Alias: (what ever you want. Do NOT use Guest!)

.:Advanced Tab:.
IRC Options:
Port: 6667
Encodings: UTF-8
Auto-Detect incoming UTF-8: (Do NOT check this box!)
Username: (leave blank)
Real Name: (leave blank)
Use SSL: (everywherechat.com does not support SSL on pidgin.)

Proxy Options:
Proxy type: Use Global Proxy Settings

After Pidgin connects to irc.eveerywherechat.com (everytime) you will be prompted with a popup chat window to authenticate yourself, you must eneter
"/msg NickServ IDENTIFY {your password}" (without the quotes)

You will get a positive responce if you are authenticated "NickServ: (notice) Password accepted - you are now recognized."

Close the "NickServ" window

In the main Pidgin window, click "Buddies" then "Add Chat", make sure your account is selected in the "Account:" textbox, i.e. {your nick}@irc.everywherechat.com

In the "Channel:" textbox enter "#Podnutz" (without the quotes)

Click "Add", you should now see a "Chat" entry on your main Pidgin window, just double click it and wala, you're in the Podnutz Lounge
