Dwain asks what is a good data recovery tool for deleted and reformatted partition, and if he is transferring to a Mac, how to transfer and recognize application, email and browser settings. Steve D recommends GetDataBack for the data recovery. There is some discussion of settings transfer options.
Alan follows up on previous listener email question about browsers getting stuck with an error “identifying network”, and provides a solution from support.microsoft.com/kb/915162 -- Error Message when you start dhcp client services on a Windows XP-based computer “error 1075”. It is for XP but he says it also works with Windows 7. Steve D’s usual fix for similar problems is to un-install and reinstall the wireless driver or update the driver. This will erase the wireless pass codes, but can be avoided by using WirlessPassView
