He also says that piracy can be easily disguised by hacking a neighbor's wifi. SMD Steve: Explains that companies don't like having their logos being placed erroneously Darren: Finds it interesting and states that in ACTA you are guilty until proven innocent and that it is very secretive Steve C: Wonders if it is unconstitutional. He also feels that he would like stricter control on piracy but feels ACTA is going too far SMD Steve: 32 bit vs 64 bit windows 7 Darren: Says that he finds that hardware is less compatible with 64 bit than 32 bit software SMD Steve: Has had good luck with 64 bit so far , Steve wants to know the differences. Steve C: Experience is that windows 7 64 bit will run most all of the programs even if they are 32 bit and has had no problems with 64 bit. Chris: Wonders if 64 bit provides more security than 32 bit. Darren: Wants to talk about Windows vs Linux Chris: Has changed the GUIs on his home linux computers and is family doesn't know the differences and doesn't have to worry about viruses Steve C: Says putting linux on a family member's computer is okay because you can support them but, for customers it could be problematic Darren: Says that if you put Linux on a customers you will be getting a lot of support calls. SMD Steve: Is an admirer of linux from afar. He turned one of his friends on to ubuntu and was amazed by how vast the capabilities are with Ubuntu Steve C: More Apple talk Chris: Doesn't like people telling him what to do with devices that he buys. He doesn't like how controlling Apple is. He would like it if Apple gave its users a choice. Steve C: Sees it differently in that if you don't hack the Apple system it just works without problems. SMD Steve: Feels Apple is closed due to the lack of carrier choices for the iPhone and the closed nature of the App store Darren: Says that he sees a lot of dedicated Apple users and feel Apple computer will be around for a while. |
